The School of Mechanical Engineering is authorized by the Degree Office of the State Council to offer one first level master program in Mechanical Engineering and three secondary level master programs in mechanical manufacturing and automation,mechanical electronic engineering, and mechanical design and theory. There are 10 graduate advisors in mechanical manufacturing and automation discipline, 14 graduate advisors in mechanical electronic engineering discipline, and 13 graduate advisors in mechanical design and theory discipline.
The length of these programs is typically 3 years (5 years maximum) with one year for course work. Course grades are valid for five years. The time for thesis cannot be less than 1.5 years. After completing the curriculum and credit requirements as stipulated in their programs, students with good grades and outstanding performance in scientific research can apply for early thesis defense and early graduation. But the total time in school must not be less than 2 academic years.
