Doctor of Engineering, professor, supervisor for post graduate, Innovation Talent of Jiangsu Provincial, Leading Talent Yancheng City.

2003-2009, Zhang was engaged in engineering application research of PVD coating of Swiss company, served as manager and director.

2010, Professor Zhang entered the School of Mechanical Engineering of Shanghai University of Technology as a professional talent and team leader, engaged in teaching and scientific research of PVD coating.

2018, the team of professor Zhang is approved as Shanghai Engineering Research Center of Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) Superhard Coatings and Equipment (Provincial Engineering Center)

Since 2002, the project received funds of professor Zhang exceeded 20 million, he published more than 40 academic papers，15 of which were cited by SCI and EI, 20 patents were authorized. Published an academic monograph Modern PVD Surface Engineering Technology and Application (Science Press, June 2013), as an editor-in-chief of the textbook Mechanical Engineering Materials (Shanghai Science and Technology Press, August 2017).
